Chateau Bujan 2003 **** and "Golden Grappe"
"Recommended wine".
June - July 2003
Three stars
"Good color, full, round attack, lively fruits, long and fresh finish."
January-February 2003
"Deep ruby color. Rich nose, with aromas of red-fruit soup. Supple attack and good depth in the mouth, interesting fruity potential. Round finish with velvety tannins."
September - October 2003 - No. 10
"In the heart of the Cotes de Bourg, Bujan, [...] establishes, along with a few other estates in the appellation, the foundations of the future of Bordeaux. The full and well-balanced nose offers a remarkable freshness backed by subtle aromas of ripe fruits. The framework in the mouth is perceived through a delicate woodsy taste, the tannins are rich and the finish, toasted. You can already enjoy the suppleness of this wine..."
"This wine represents its appellation (editor's note : Cotes de Bourg) and its vintage very well. The dark purple color sparkles with garnet and dark reflections. The nose of cystallized fruits, cassis, wood, with a note of coffee, announces a round, fleshy mouth, with the full-body of solid and straightforward tannins that will enable this bottle to be enjoyed in two to ten years with traditional foods."
August/Sept. 2001 - No. 80
"Portraits in Cotes de Bourg based on the 2000 vintage tasted"
"The wine explodes, a festival of fruits, cystallized and fresh, held up by spices and elder-tree notes. The nose is enormous. The attack fresh evolving on density - enormous amplitude - very lovely and generous length, the finish presents its very tight medium-grain tannins, neat, precise. Superb."
"Pascal Meli organizes visits to the Bordeaux vineyards. You can start with his and the discovery of this vintage whose dark ruby color sparkles with purple reflections. When aired, it releases aromas of very ripe grapes, cherries, prunes and liquorice wood. Well-structured and fruity, it evolves on a spicy flavor (coriander and nutmeg) and a finish of vanilla tannins. All this is already very pleasant, and should be even better in two or three years."
No. 352 - April 2002
"Supple and tender, this smooth round wine with lovely spicy aromas has no aggressiveness..."
